The constructive design of this plough allows for a defined cutting depth that avoids the backward o "breathing" movement. Because of the improvement in the use of the forces applied to the cutter bits and the decrease in the losses for passive resistance of the moving parts, this plough is very suitable to mine hard coal or coal with intercalation of stone.

The driving chains (1) of the plough are in the side of the coal. The Gleit model includes an original adjustment system (2) of the plowing horizon whose hydraulic cylinders modify the inclination of the plough body (3).
