This is a "breathing" plough, i.e., the conveyor slightly moves backwards at the cutting point. This installation is suitable to get any kind of coals, except those extremely hard.

 

The driving chains (1) of the plough are in the caving side.

The plough body (2) may increase its cutting height by means of additional blocks fitted with more cutter bits to get the coal.
